Busy Busy Week

Lots of news and events this week!
Sunday, Rex, Marshall, James and I went to Iron Man 2 and after the movie we went to that farm store right by the theater and they had ducks!! I want one so bad oh they were so cute. Oh and it rained, big shock it rained for 10 days in a row ( or so it felt)
Monday, Justin came back. Marshall, James and I filmed a little for TJ's movie and I think that is it, so not a real busy day.
Tuesday, Looked at more houses, but found one that really liked.
Wednesday, Got hired at the golf course, yay!! I am the new night time front desk person for the hotel, plus I'll be doing their books so I'll get paid more. I'm really excited, everyone seems so nice and are just as excited as I am to be there. Hopefully I will meet some celebrities.
Thursday, Made an offer on a house! It's on 5th and Hall street, one block east of Main. And I also helped Molly move out of her house in Springview. It was fun hanging out with her and Karen and getting pop corn pattys, yumm!
Friday, Our offer was accepted, now all we have to do is go to the bank and get some money. We also worked on the yard and trimmed around the pond. We are draining it right now, getting it ready for summer. After that Justin, James and I went to Todd's branding. It was fun and different, they wrestle their calves and let me tell ya I bet those calves weighted more than I did. I got bucked off of one, but it was all good because they caught it but I think I'll stick to using a table if I ever have to brand again.
Saturday, Is my first day of work, I don't think I'll be doing a lot of working but I have orientation none the less. I don't know what else we are doing, maybe calling the real estate people about the house? Lots of exciting things coming up in our lives!!

One more time we're gonna celebrate

Today was my cousin Aria's graduation and party, it was a blast and the food, fantastic! Sorry Justin, you missed out on some good fun and food. Because last night we went to Cody too and we played kick ball and grilled out, so much fun. True (Aria's little sister) asked me last night if since I married Justin that now I'm in the family and he is kicked out? Haha because I show up for everything and he doesn't. Anyways back to the party, it was at aunt Karen's house and her and uncle Tony cooked the food. Which included a cheese fountain, where you could dip veggies, bread, and chips into, chicken and steak kabobs (why does meat always taste better on a stick? mmmmm...corn dogs), oh and my favorite crab dip with won ton chips. And there was also cake and mints but that was to be expected right? The mints were by far the best mints ever I might add, haha that is because I helped make them. Now I am hungry again.....

Job status

I went for my first interview for the prairie golf course today, super exciting! It went good as far as I could tell, I really hope I get a job there. I've never worked for a company like this before and I think it would be an exciting adventure.
Yesterday we went and looked at 2 more houses, both were good and bad. I really don't like looking at houses, but we really don't have much of a choice. The first house was southeast of Valentine in the pine heights sub district. It was a modular home with an unfinished basement, 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, big lot, single garage not attached and the house is facing the wrong way. It would be a good home to start off with, it's kinda far from the ranch but I like the area but I think we would have to put some work into it. But it would be easier to sell than the other house we looked at.
The second house was the house that got vandalized a year or so ago, it is in a creek valley and we fell in love with the land. The house, umm well Justin doesn't mind it but I had a few problems with it. It was a 3 bedroom, 3 bathrooms (1 full, 1 3/4, 1 1/2), 2 small out buildings, lots of land, creek running through property, cute outside features, new everything inside but the layout of the house was just weird and almost impossible to change. This house was much older and quite a bit more than the first, but it did have more land. I don't know, there are pros and cons with each house. So still so far no update on living situation but we'll survive and we will be blessed with something incredible. I know this because this is what happened to us in Lincoln, we looked and looked for almost a year and then a month before the wedding when we weren't even looking we were blessed with Justin's grandma's house. Which if you have never been there before is amazing!
But anyways... Still busy here in the month of May, tonight I'm taking Marshall and James to Cody for a birthday party. We are celebrating Grace, Aria and James's birthdays, yay! Then tomorrow is Aria's high school graduation and after party.
Well I'm off to take pictures of where Justin and I would like to live.

Rain rain go away

Well I think it's safe to say spring is here, and I'm happy that this rain isn't snow. But at the same time rain isn't as fun as sun. Maybe tonight after Justin gets off work we can play board games or video games or maybe snuggle up for a movie, I guess rainy days can be fun after all.
So we are another step closer to starting our life in Valentine, I turned in my job applications today, so keep your fingers crossed that I get some call backs soon. And if anyone knows of any job opening please let me know.
I have another Kaedo story, so yesterday we all went to Grandma and Grandpa's but James stayed home because he had some homework and stuff so Kaedo stayed inside with him. And at some point in time Kaedo snuck away and ate the rest of Marshall's graduation cake. I felt so bad for James because it wasn't his fault when Kaedo smells chocolate he does whatever he can to get it. So if that wasn't bad enough Kaedo threw up the cake about 2 or 3 hours later, in the living room on the carpet. It looked like someone put the cake in a blender with some water and pressed puree and it smelt like frosting. At least it's never a dull with him, even if the moments are a bit naughty.

Trip to Grandma and Grandpa's

This morning we went swimming with our cousin's from Colorado, Caleb, Steven and Daniel. We were swimmin and the holiday inn, haha but really. Anyways it was fun but the water was freezing!
After that Rex, Gale, Marshall, Justin and me drove out to Grandma and Grandpa's house, not for any special reason just to hang out. Karen, Tony, Steve, Carrie, Aria, True, Grace and Sarah were there, so we had a party. Marshall opened his graduation presents, they vaccinated some cows, Tony and Karen made pizza it was a grand ole time. But for some reason or another I am super tired so I think I'm going to go to bed. Don't know why I didn't do anything, oh well goodnite.

Celebrate good times come on!

Sorry guys I missed a day yesterday, but it was a very busy eventful day.
First off I got up at 8:00am and as I said before that is a bit early for me, but that's OK we needed all the time we could get. Then around 10 am we, Gale and I, went to town to set up for Marshall's graduation party. Wanda, Brian and Eric (my new aunt and uncle and their youngest) were there to help us which was awesome because I never get to see them and they are super cool! So we set up the place and after that all the younger people went over to Zane's (cousin) party. Then after we ate we headed back over to Marshall's and Gale put me back to work. Lol not really I served cake but I like to do that anyway so no big deal. Marshall had a good turn out he is going to open up his present's today I'm excited to see what he gets! Around 3 pm I went out to Carl and Vickie's house (new aunt and uncle) because their daughter Sarah (yep another cousin) was graduating and I was helping with her surprise present. Her little sister, Emily gathered stories of Sarah from her friends and family and we wrote them in the drive way with sidewalk chalk. It was so cool and very sweet. Then it was graduation time, Eric and I arrived fashionably late of course, but still ended up with front row seats. Blessed and highly favored. Sarah gave a speech and it was really good and Marshall didn't trip, so all and all good ceremony. After the ceremony we, Justin, James, Eric, Ethan, Paul and I went over to Beau's party. Nope Beau is not a cousin, haha. And Beau had an awesome party, best of the night! Then after that we (everyone I just named) went to Sarah's house for her shindig. I'm pretty sure we closed that party down arrived around 6 pm left at midnight, had a pretty good time. All in all I had a wonderful day, I love seeing all of my new family and laughing and having a good time.
I might finish this up a bit later the fam is ready to go do something don't want to miss out

On the road again

Today was the first uneventful day we have had in a long time. All we did was drive to Valentine and now Justin is playing Halo Beta with his cousins, Paul and Ethan and his brother James. But maybe we had a slow day today because tomorrow is the big show. It's graduation day tomorrow and I have 4 parties to go to!! I'm excited, plus I just found out today that I get to help with my cousin Sarah's surprise gift.
I also brought my dad's nice camera back with us so I can take some cool pics, I know I need to post some more on here. It's been busy I haven't had time to edit the ones I have yet to post.

Ode to Joy

Tonight my dad took me and Justin to see Beethoven's 9th, performed by the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra. It was so so so good and now I really want to watch Disney's Fantasia! It also made me miss band, Justin says I should start playing again and now I really want to. After the performance we gave my mom her mother's day present since we will be in Valentine for graduation. I made her a poster for her class room, it's of pyramids that we went to in Mexico.
Now we are watching Renegade, it's an old TV show, so far so good. I'm glad were watching it though because it's storming out and I don't like storms. This way with the TV on I can't hear the thunder and Justin day proofed our room so I can't see the lightning.

Why did the cows cross the road?

Last night as we were driving back to Lincoln and about 10 miles before the Calamus reservoir turn off we saw around 60 head of cattle crossing the road. These poor guys who were moving them had a heck of a time too. It took their two pick ups, 2 people on foot, 3 four wheelers, us and the big truck behind us to get these cows moved from across the highway and up the road about a mile. They had 5 cows that would not cross the road, they probably didn't want to get confused for chickens like the cows on the Chic-fil-a commercials, "eat mor chikin". Anyways back to the 5 naughty cows, they were so funny they would walk up to the lines on the highway and sniff them and turn around and run away. There was one cow that did that 4 or 5 times before she finally crossed over that dreaded line. Oh but there was this other one that was causing all of the other cows to be naughty, Justin said if it were his cow he would have shot it. At one point 4 guys were chasing it and still no luck. We never did get to see if they got it across the highway, we wanted to but we had already spent 2o minutes helping and it was getting dark. Oh and on a side note for all you city people or people who didn't grow up in cow country, Do Not drive through the heard a honk!!! We saw this jerk last night who did that, I mean I didn't grow up in cow country either but I would have stopped and waited, it is jerks like him that give "city people" a bad name. But other than that guy it was fun, I love watching cows they make me laugh.

Another day in the city of love

Another early morning today, haha I got up at 8:30 am, but I was used to working nights where I didn't go to bed until 8:00 am. Oh well anyways we went and looked at 3 more houses today. None of them were really....that...great...yeah. 2 of them were way over priced and the other one was from the 70's, but there is another that we will look at next week that might work better. After that we ran erronds around town with Rex, which is an event, lol. Also Gale gave me and Justin a tour of the Cody Foster warehouse. Oh my goodness that place was amazing, I would love to have a job there. I'd probably need one so I could get a discount because now I want like half of his warehouse.
Now Justin is going off to work for a few hours then we will be heading back to Lincoln tonight. In the meantime I will be cleaning and organizing Gale's kitchen.

Movin to the country gonna eat me a lot of peaches

Another eventful day here in Valentine, NE which most people wouldn't think that eventful and Valentine would go in the same sentence with out the word not in there. And sometimes I am one of those people but I am starting to change my mind.
At 10:30 or so this morning we ( me Justin Rex and Gale) went and looked at house to buy, yeah...... Not so much. The house was the worst, I don't think I could think of one good thing about the house. So then we went and looked at the outside of houses that we might want to look at on the insides. We found a few and we are going to go look at them tomorrow. But we went and looked at land that we just might clean up and build a house there. I really liked the land and I want to take pictures soon, hopefully this weekend. We were so excited after looking at the land that we came home and talked about building one for about 2 hours. We looked at lots of different floor plans and different options, I'm sooo excited!!!!
Also we had brinner!!! (breakfast for dinner) Waffles and sausage, yummy. But that's pretty much it, just another wonderful day in the life of Janelle.

Last day of school

Well that was fun, just got back from helping Marshall and his friends set up a tent at their high school. Tomorrow is their last day of school so their camping out on the grounds. Other seniors were there doing more of the "prank" thing. They plastic wrapped the school mascot and other things in the parking lot. Wrote with sidewalk chalk on the front sidewalk and in the parking lot. But the sprinklers came on so I don't know if it will make it till morning. Oh and this was a new one that I'd never heard before, they glued pennies to the sideway in the form of 2010. Pictures will be coming soon. Other than that the night was fun, honors award thing was good and I got to see and tell people about the up coming move. We had cake, cake is always good and after the ceremony was over we went out to dinner at pizza hut and closed the place down. Fun times!
Now I'm looking up houses to go look at tomorrow, Justin is playing a beta version of Halo which looks pretty sweet I might add and Kaedo is chewing on his bone. Were just the typical happy family who stays up to 1 or 2 in the morning. Oh well off to face book and look at more houses.

On the road again..

So you know how we were supposed to leave this morning bright and early. I even talked about leaving as soon as Justin got off work. Well that didn't so much happen, we left bright and noon. Ha ha no it was 11 am, but still way later than either of us intended. Oh well, we are here now safe and sound. Thought up another good movie on the way too, you better watch out Teeyl.
Right now Justin is loading Halo Beta? or something like that, pretty much just waiting for everyone to come home. The boys (Marshall and James) just got off of school or should I say track and Gale (Justin's mom) just got off work. They should be home any minute now and then we will go back in to town for Honors night at the high school. Justin's parents live 10 miles from town that is why I think it is funny that they are coming out here just to turn around to go back.
Then tomorrow we are going to go look at possible houses for Justin and I to live, I'm kinda excited. This has been a strange emotional journy, first excited, then confused then sad and back full circle to excited. I just hope we are making the right decsion moving out here.
Well thats all I know for right now.....

Sleeping is so boring....

Hello it's 2 am and I can't sleep, again. Only this time I have to get up in ummm 5 hours to drive 5 hours to Valentine. And this has nothing to do with anything but Kaedo stinks!! He has the worst gas ever, our bedroom smells like an out house. But that is not why I can't sleep, I like staying up too much. There is so much to do, why waste my time with sleep. I wonder what Kaedo ate that is making him so stinky?? Maybe with my surge of energy we should leave for Valentine as soon as Justin gets home. Kaedo isn't even tired, he is full of energy too. What a better way to tired him out than a five hour car ride. Well I better be off to more packing since I can't sleep, might as well do something productive. Sweet dreams to all of those who are sleeping.

Ah Ha, At last!

I knew I had a better tomorrow coming my way, it just so happens that that day was today. Had a great nights sleep, not bad dreams about ticks, haha yuck. I cleaned the house today and our friends came over for dinner. I made "make it work" stir fry, it was OK. Next time I can make it better because now I know what I need. It was a make it work moment because Justin gave 20 minutes notice that our friends, Jade and her boyfriend Luke, were coming over. I found stakes in the freezer but there wasn't enough for all four of us, and we had all of the vegetables so I decided to go for it. The only thing we needed from the store was rice and soy sauce which Justin was happy to pick up. Right now Justin and I are trying to use up as much food as possible so we don't have to move it, especially the frozen stuff. I also made strawberry daiquiris too.
After dinner we went out and played ladder ball in the back yard. Boys won 2 to 1, sad. Then we watched the Tony Ford video because Luke is left handed.
Not very eventful but it was very refreshing considering the week I've had.

This picture was taken on a date Justin took me on to Sunken Gardens, it's lilly pads. I know this picture has nothing to do with my post but it was really cool!!

Trying to be a rag picker

So today was a trying day, I won't say bad or horrible or the worst day ever because truth be told I have an amazing life. But it wasn't all sunshine and roses today either.
Found two more ticks on Kaedo, this time I got them off without daddy. Well I guess Justin did help me hold him down. But speaking of the little devil, Kaedo that is, he ran off on me tonight. I was taking him outside to go potty after I got home from my parent's house and he got away from me. I was trying to hook him up on his chain, because we don't have a fenced yard and he was all wiggly and he turned just right where the collar pinched me and the next thing I knew I was running after him. He ran across the street to the Retirement community, I'm sure he scared a few people considering he looks like a wolf. Then he ran over to the duck pond, I was for sure he was going swimming which would mean that I would have been too. But thankfully he just stop by to get a drink. After his refreshment he wondered over to the office buildings and marked all of their bushes. Keep in mind I'm still running after him and it's 11pm at night. So he continues to make his way through the office buildings crossing several streets and almost getting hit by a car. I finally cornered him at the Wal (a mile away from our house), he stopped to get another drink this time from the sprinklers. Needless to say Kaedo is not my favorite person at the moment.

But besides that, the day didn't start off so good either. Do you ever feel like your losing control over your own life when in reality you should be gaining more control? Well that is how I felt today. And I'm so frustrated because I feel like I can't fix it and that's what I do I fix things. It's like I can't fix it or stop thinking about it, urggghh! Oh what to do what to do?
But I will be fine and tomorrow is hours away and it is a whole new chance to have a better day.

HTMLing it

This is Justin, my husband, trying to look like Indiana Jones. All he is missing is a whip and the hat.

And this gorgeous little kitty is Georgie, the love of my life.

I'm trying to think back to junior year of high school when I learned all of this html junk. Yeah I said it junk! Dream weaver is so much better, but I've managed to remember some things. As you can see I changed the background, and some of the picture sizing. If anyone knows codes for html, let me know so I can pimp out my page even more.

An eventful month to come

Lots of exciting events coming up in May!!
May 3rd: Me and Justin are driving up to Valentine so that he can work and I can look at possible houses. Well and to get ready for Marshall's graduation.

Happy May Day

Sunset at Fort Myers beach in Florida, I took this when I was there visiting my Grandma

This is Kaedo, or as I like to call him "smiling Bob"

Pyramid in Mexico, pretty sure it was Uxmal, but we saw so many ruins.......

First day on the job

Today was kinda a sad day, it is one more day closer to the biggest change of my life. And frankly I'm scared, scared of the new, scared of what I'm leaving behind all in all scared. I bet you are wondering what could be so scary? Well in a few weeks I will be moving to Valentine, NE. It's not that I don't like Valentine it is very nice and very beautiful and I would be surrounded by my family. But I have never moved before, well I guess I moved once before when I was like 2 but that doesn't count. There are lots of reasons why I am happy and sad to go, but for now I will continue to pack boxes.
This evening we, Justin and I, went out to eat with my parents at the Parker's rib ranch. It was nice, I hadn't been there in years but it's nice to know that their chicken fried stake is still as good as ever. I love spending time with my parents they make me laugh and I can only pray that Justin and I have that good of marriage after 24 years. After dinner I came home to find a huge, I mean like almond size green tick in our house. And Justin also found another little one today in our bathroom. So I searched Kaedo, our 10 month old Siberian Husky, and wouldn't you know I found another one. This one was about the size of a kernel of corn, field corn of course, and it was brown and nasty. I wrestled him for about an hour trying to get it off when finally I called my daddy. So I loaded up Kaedo in the car and drove him 25 minutes over to my parent's house so that my dad and I could wrestle him again. Thankfully this time my dad was successful. Poor Kaedo he was out in the country for 2 or 3 days and he ended up with at least 3 ticks. The best part is to repay my dad Kaedo marked his couch, twice. Luckily Grandpa is a real softy for anything with four legs. And now I'm checking constantly for ticks on me.
I also got to talk to one of my favorite cousins, Mary Kay and Reed was listening in and made a few comments here and there. They are getting married in June and I'm so excited they are so perfect for each other, plus the wedding is so going to be a blast!! I called to make sure she was doing OK, she got some pretty crappy news earlier today. The kind of news a bride doesn't want to hear a month before the wedding, but everything is cool, just like Mary Kay. We had a good chat and I think we are going to open up our very own family owned papa johns. Justin doesn't that sound like a good idea, haha. The joke is that there is no Papa John's in Valentine and that is my comfort food, it always makes me better.
Welp that pretty much sums up my night, besides making this blog. Hope you all enjoyed, hope the entries get more exciting as time goes by.

Learning the ropes

While on a wild safari in Seneca, NE I got this lucky shot. Zebras are very skittish and almost impossible to get close to, unlike water buffaloes.

I took this picture about 5 minutes before Justin proposed to me, and I made it all cowboy like for him.

Noob

Well Hello and Welcome to my blog. I've never made a blog before but Justin, my husband, convinced me to do so. I just hope I have stuff to write about :)
I am an artist and I'm always making or creating something so I want to use this as a way to post my creations, or just to keep track of my ever changing life. Hope you enjoy!!
