Graduation parties

This summer I had a whole bunch of family graduating from both college and high school. Since I love planning and throwing parties I volunteered my services for 2 of the graduation parties.

James:
High School Graduation
Valentine High School
May 13th, 2012
Location: My back yard

For James' party we made punch, Gale bought cake and ice cream and we made mints. Simple since we were so busy with our jobs this year. Gale, the brand new co owner/operator of The Range Cafe and Bassett Lodge in Bassett, NE. I, the newly appointed Front Desk Supervisor at The Prairie Club. I did have time however to plan and make/order the decorations and make a slide show for him. Also I took James' senior pictures here are a few of my favs.

Ryan & Becky:
College Graduation
The Ohio State University
June 10th, 2012
Location: Becky's Grandparent's back yard, Columbus, OH

For Ryan's graduation my Mom, Dad, Elle and I flew to my Grandma Holdson's house in Indiana first. Spent the night and then the 5 of us headed up to Columbus town. We got there in the afternoon, met Ryan, Becky and her parent's for lunch, we ate at Eddie George's restaurant...sooo good! After that Ryan, Becky, Grandma, Mom, Dad, Elle and I went on a exclusive tour of the Horseshoe. I say exclusive because we were allowed in areas that are not open to the public during the year, only during graduation for families to see. It was awesome, we got to sit in the luxury boxes, go into the press boxes, go in the best damn band in land's music room, walk on the field and we even got to go in the private room they take new recruits. Here are pictures from that tour:

Later that night Ryan, Becky and I went to the candle light ceremony in the oval. Since during graduation they don't have any of the students speak this is the time for their speeches. Also I was not going to the actual graduation ceremony, because it was 99 degrees, 4 hours long and I had a party to set up. Not to mention the 11 month, she was a big contributing factor, haha. So this was a way for me to feel apart of the process without actually seeing the transfer of the tassel. I was so glad I went it was so neat. The speeches were so good, there was a slide show and at the end of it we all sang Carmin Ohio and passed the flame of knowledge (lighting one another's candle). Here are some pictures of Ryan, Becky and their friends.

Now on to the good stuff, the party. Like I said before I stayed at Becky's Grandparent's house during the ceremony to set up the party. I was lucky because Becky's Mom had already bought all of the decorations before hand and had them waiting for me. Let me tell you planning a party from over 1000 miles away isn't the easiest thing. Plus my luggage weighted 49.99lbs, there was no room for party decorations. So with my 2 little helpers, Ally Fay and Elle Fay we put this together:

It was so much fun, I love parties! I need to find a job where I can plan and decorate parties, that would be the life!
2 Things crossed off the list.
