Summer List: Teach Elle to pick flowers

I didn't have to do a lot "teaching" simply placing Elle anywhere near the flowers resulted in them being picked, pulled apart, smashed or eaten. I also really want to teach her how to blow dandelions, but we don't have any and she doesn't understand blowing yet. So on to next year's board it goes. Please enjoy some of the photos I took of Elle with flowers this summer.

Loving that my little girl is girly!! Hope she will always remain my little pretty princess and let me dress her up. So far there has been no guesses on how many "to dos" I have, don't worry there is still time if you want to guess. Like I said you'll win a prize if your right, or at this point if you are the only one who guesses....

Summer List: Take a hike with my camera

This summer I have gone on a few hikes, but I never take my camera. Seems so silly, beautiful scenery, wonderful views and no camera. Well usually I either have 2 dogs or a baby with all of her junk. But this time it was me, Elle in a backpack and my camera. Well that's a lie I had Emily and Vicki as my hiking buddies, but my goal was to just get scenery views no people, just nature. Here are a few of my favorite shots.

As a note there has been no editing to these pictures, they are pure and simple. The view is beautiful enough, no need for editing.

Like I said before, I have been on many hikes this summer but I am open for many hikes in the fall as well. Hit me up if you'd like to go, oh and remind to pack the camera.

What will I cross off my lists next??

Summer List: Going to the playground

When I was pregnant with Elle I would always walk pass the pool and the playground and day dream about one day taking my little one there. I was so excited when I realized that she was big enough to go to both. The first time we went to the playground this summer was on Mother's Day. Along with pictures I also took some video.

As you can see the first time we went she was more interested in the rocks than the play equipment, but as the summer went on she became more and more curious about them.

Here is her swinging, by far her favorite thing to do at the park!

Going to the park is one of our favorite things to do, it's really fun when Daddy goes with us!

Stay tuned for more of my Summer List

Summer List: Horse Back Riding

Not only did I get to go horse back riding this summer, but so did my little Elle belly. Isn't she so cute!

So here are some less cute pictures of me on a horse.
I went riding with True, Sara and Grace. It was a lot of fun! Not as exciting as planning parties but still a fun summer thing to do.

That makes 3, I wonder how long my list is? I never tallied up my list, any guesses on how many I have on my list? If you guess right you'll win a prize :)

Graduation parties

This summer I had a whole bunch of family graduating from both college and high school. Since I love planning and throwing parties I volunteered my services for 2 of the graduation parties.

James:
High School Graduation
Valentine High School
May 13th, 2012
Location: My back yard

For James' party we made punch, Gale bought cake and ice cream and we made mints. Simple since we were so busy with our jobs this year. Gale, the brand new co owner/operator of The Range Cafe and Bassett Lodge in Bassett, NE. I, the newly appointed Front Desk Supervisor at The Prairie Club. I did have time however to plan and make/order the decorations and make a slide show for him. Also I took James' senior pictures here are a few of my favs.

Ryan & Becky:
College Graduation
The Ohio State University
June 10th, 2012
Location: Becky's Grandparent's back yard, Columbus, OH

For Ryan's graduation my Mom, Dad, Elle and I flew to my Grandma Holdson's house in Indiana first. Spent the night and then the 5 of us headed up to Columbus town. We got there in the afternoon, met Ryan, Becky and her parent's for lunch, we ate at Eddie George's restaurant...sooo good! After that Ryan, Becky, Grandma, Mom, Dad, Elle and I went on a exclusive tour of the Horseshoe. I say exclusive because we were allowed in areas that are not open to the public during the year, only during graduation for families to see. It was awesome, we got to sit in the luxury boxes, go into the press boxes, go in the best damn band in land's music room, walk on the field and we even got to go in the private room they take new recruits. Here are pictures from that tour:

Later that night Ryan, Becky and I went to the candle light ceremony in the oval. Since during graduation they don't have any of the students speak this is the time for their speeches. Also I was not going to the actual graduation ceremony, because it was 99 degrees, 4 hours long and I had a party to set up. Not to mention the 11 month, she was a big contributing factor, haha. So this was a way for me to feel apart of the process without actually seeing the transfer of the tassel. I was so glad I went it was so neat. The speeches were so good, there was a slide show and at the end of it we all sang Carmin Ohio and passed the flame of knowledge (lighting one another's candle). Here are some pictures of Ryan, Becky and their friends.

Now on to the good stuff, the party. Like I said before I stayed at Becky's Grandparent's house during the ceremony to set up the party. I was lucky because Becky's Mom had already bought all of the decorations before hand and had them waiting for me. Let me tell you planning a party from over 1000 miles away isn't the easiest thing. Plus my luggage weighted 49.99lbs, there was no room for party decorations. So with my 2 little helpers, Ally Fay and Elle Fay we put this together:

It was so much fun, I love parties! I need to find a job where I can plan and decorate parties, that would be the life!
2 Things crossed off the list.

Summer 2012 List count down begins now

As you can tell my blog is under construction! I need to make a new title and I changed the back ground.

Now that summer is coming to a close I will have loads of time to get you up to date on my fantastic, never dull, so rewarding, blessed and highly favored life.

This summer I had a check list and Pinterest board of things I wanted to do. I love making lists! But what I love even more than lists is checking things off of my list. I'm so happy to report that I did nearly everything on my board and I have the pictures to prove it. So get ready because for the next few weeks we will re live my Summer 2012.

I remember making this board back in March when it looked and felt like summer. I couldn't wait for summer and the first thing I wanted to do was to take Elle to the pool.

We went to the pool a few times, she still is kind of little to go, but she loved it. When we first started going she was just learning to walk and we walked all around the pool in the water out of the water everywhere. The Valentine pool has a zero entry which is perfect for little Miss Elle, but she is a little dare devil and tried to go in the deep end with the big kids. We even got Daddy to go a couple times to the pool, even though he won't admit it, he had fun.

Did you have a check list for summer? Doesn't it always feel like it goes too fast! Making goals or lists is a good way to make sure you do everything you wanted to do. Unless you are like my husband and his goal for summer was to do nothing, I don't think you need a list for that.
